  • Will epoxy floors crack?

It is possible for epoxy floors to crack. Due to rigidity, epoxy is prone to cracking when the foundation experiences slight shifts. This leads to cracks in the epoxy coating. This can be difficult and expensive to repair, and recoating a new layer of epoxy is often the only solution to fix the problem.

  • How long will an epoxy floor system last?

Our industrial epoxy floor coatings are highly resistant to damage and usually last at least 10 years, even in high-demand environments. This exceeds the lifespan of most, if not all, DIY epoxy floor coatings which can only last a few years. If properly maintained, commercial epoxy flooring can even last up to 20 years or longer without showing stains and damage.

  • How durable are epoxy floors?

Commercial or industrial epoxy floors are valued for their strength and longevity. Epoxy protects concrete floors from stains, moisture, cracks, and damage with a high-performance protective layer. It can also withstand forms of damage, including corrosive liquids, vehicle traffic, and abrasion. Industrial epoxy floor coatings are great for high-traffic and demanding environments since they bind with the concrete substrate and are stronger than concrete. This increases the weight load of the concrete with a flexural strength that exceeds 10,000 PSI.

  • How long does it take to install a garage epoxy floor?

It takes just one to two days for professional garage epoxy installation. We will begin by making the necessary repairs, lifting stains, and diamond grinding your concrete. This part takes the longest. Once the surface is prepped, epoxy will be installed. Depending on the type of epoxy system, it may take more than one or two days. After installation is complete, your epoxy should be left alone for 24-48 hours before it’s ready for light foot traffic. You should wait at least 5 days before driving on your new garage floor.

  • What is the maintenance like for an epoxy floor?

Maintenance is easier than you think. Sweeping and mopping your floor regularly will help it to look brand new for longer. Epoxy flooring in a commercial setting or garage can be pressure washed and squeegeed as long as you have protection installed. Epoxy flooring is very hard but can still be damaged, so use mats at doorways to prevent tracking moisture and grit on shoes where it can become imprinted on the floor. Most cleaning products are safe to use on epoxy. You should avoid acidic products that can degloss the epoxy coating. Soap-based products will not damage epoxy concrete floors, but they will leave a slippery buildup on the surface. If your epoxy does develop stains, use a soft brush and TSP or CLR.

  • How can I bring back the beautiful shine my natural stone floors had when they were new?

If your floor is not deeply scratched, surface polishing may bring back an acceptable shine. However, polishing may result in "shiny scratches" if any of the scratches were deeper than the surface polishing could address. If your floor has deep scratches, is worn badly, or otherwise damaged, a complete restoration is warranted. This is a decision we will be happy to assist you with. We provide free estimates for all restoration work.
